Welcome to the official website of the Mid-south Police Motorcycle Training & Skills Competition . The events are hosted by the Mid-South Motorcops Association which is comprised of Motor Officers from the Memphis Police Dept. , Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Southaven Police Dept. and Desoto County Sheriff's Office.
The purpose of the event is to serve as a fundraiser for the Al Chymia Shriners Hospital Patient Transportation Fund. The Shriners Hospitals for children is a one of a kind healthcare system dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, research and teaching programs. Because these medical needs know no boundaries those in need may live hundreds of miles away. It is because of the Shriners Hospital Patient Transportaton Fund that children in need get from thier home to their respective Shrine Hospital.
The events will also provide a training enviroment for motor officers from all over to gather and advance their skills of motorcycle operations and share knowledge with other agencies. The police motor officers will be required to maneuver their motorcycles through a series of cone patterns to show proficiency and skill of operation. There will be awards for the top riders in each division.
All donations benefit the Al Chymia Shriners Patient Transportation Fund. A small portion is used to cover the cost of the events. There is no admission charge for spectators, however, donations are appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who made the 2009 event a huge success and we look forward to seeing you in 2010.
